WEATHER STATUS:

NORMAL

Dear PHE Families,

After Friday’s evacuation and early release, we had the propane company confirm there was no gas leak and the septic company come out and assess the situation. There was no septic smell in the building over the weekend. However, the smell continued to get worse throughout today. This interrupted learning where some students were moved into modulars due to the smell.

The septic was pumped today, but we need more time to get the septic system corrected. In addition, we have had a water pipe break that is now flooding part of the school.

For students’ safety we are shutting down the elementary school ONLY for the remainder of the week. The intent is for school to resume normally next Tuesday, September 27, 2022. The district will send a message to families on Monday, September 26th to confirm school will be back in session.

The Jr/Sr High School will be open and operating on a normal schedule.

We apologize for the inconvenience as we try to quickly rectify the situation for the continuation of learning.

If you have any questions, please contact our Superintendent, Kyle Cooper ([email protected]).

Thank you for your continued flexibility,
Hanover School District 28
