WEATHER STATUS:

NORMAL

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience in getting school started this morning.  I have been monitoring this storm since yesterday.  I was up at 3:30 am this morning, monitoring weather tracks and forecasts. The predictive models showed a trace to one inch of snow, starting at 8am and ending at noon. As of 5:30 am, a decision was made to continue school, as normal.

At 6:00 am our buses pulled out of the bus depot to dry roads.  We were then hit with a snow squall.  I made the call at 6:30am to continue routes to ensure we did not leave children stranded on the side of the road.  When a PHE bus encountered black ice on the way to PHE, we returned them to the JSHS to have breakfast while the black ice was mitigated by the fire department and Waste Management. They have been safely delivered to the Elementary.

With the exception of the Hanover side Pre-K, school will continue as usual, and, barring any unforeseen circumstances, will dismiss as usual this afternoon.  We are cancelling all Extracurricular activities after school today – 11/29/2022.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
