Hanover community,

Today we had to evacuate our elementary school at Prairie Heights due to a suspicious smell of rotten eggs, a possible gas leak. We called in the Hanover Fire Department and after consulting with them, I decided that it would be best to evacuate the site and reunify at the Jr/Sr High School.

As your Superintendent, I am beyond impressed with our staff and families and how smoothly this process went. From our transportation department, under the guidance of Ashly Almeida, there were buses and bus drivers ready to go before they were asked for or needed. Our phenomenal administration, Mr. Koopman and Ms. Cheesman, who guided and supported the evacuation of the students, along with our amazing teachers.

Our staff, Ms. Brytni, Ms. Maggie, and Ms. Lisa who were beyond professional and attentive to the challenges of the situation. And the students, both elementary and secondary who managed the situation with grace and patience. Our DAC, who jumped in to help. Finally, our parents who were patient and supportive in the evacuation and reunification.

We are beyond blessed to have an amazing community who came to the rescue of our amazing kids. I am blessed to have the opportunity to lead and serve such incredible people.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Kyle Cooper
Superintendent
