Celebrating Our School Community's Success: Moving Forward Together

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our Hornet community! Like a team that’s been working together toward a shared goal, our schools have achieved significant milestones that deserve recognition and celebration.

Our Elementary School has advanced from Turnaround to Improvement status, and our JRSR High School has moved from Priority Improvement to Improvement. This progress represents the collective efforts of our entire school community – students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.

What This Means for Our Students

These improvements in our Colorado School Performance Framework ratings reflect real growth in student learning and school effectiveness. Think of it like a report card that shows we’re on the right track – we’ve made solid progress and are building momentum for even greater success ahead.

The Heart of Our Success

Our dedicated teachers and support staff have been instrumental in this achievement. Through innovative teaching approaches, personalized attention to student needs, and unwavering commitment to excellence, they’ve created learning environments where students can thrive.

Looking Ahead: Our Continued Journey

While we celebrate these important milestones, we’re keeping our focus on the ultimate goal of reaching Performance level. Just as any successful journey requires both celebrating progress and maintaining forward momentum, we’re committed to continuing our upward trajectory.

How Our Community Can Help

One area where we need continued community support is in assessment participation. When all students participate in state assessments, we get a complete picture of our schools’ effectiveness and can better showcase student growth. We encourage all families to help ensure their students are present and prepared for these important measures.

Moving Forward Together

This success story belongs to our entire Hornet community. By working together – families, educators, students, and community members – we’ve proven that positive change is not only possible but sustainable.

We’re excited about what lies ahead and grateful for the continued partnership of our school community as we work toward even greater achievements.

Sincerely,
Mark McPherson
