Building and Field Use
Hanover School District 28 facilities are open for community access. As part of our commitment to serving as a community partner, we welcome our patrons to utilize district spaces. Associated fees may be charged to offset operational expenses and facility usage costs.
Community groups may use school facilities when it doesn't interfere with school programs, subject to these key provisions:
Eligible Users
- School-connected organizations: free use
- Other organizations (including youth groups like Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.): pay fees per Board-approved schedule; fees may be waived for nonprofits
Requirements
- At least one paid district employee must supervise (paid by the organization)
- Cafeteria use requires school employee supervision at user's expense
- No use for activities causing disturbance, property damage, or illegal purposes
Approval & Fees
- Superintendent approves all rentals and sets fees based on Board-approved rates
- Special exceptions require Board approval
- Users must hold the district harmless from liability and may need insurance
