Counseling Center

Welcome to the Hornet Counseling Center!

Here you can find information about your options for your future (there are SO many!), how to help yourself socially, emotionally, and academically, ways to earn community service, how to get help in your classes, and some daily inspiration. Remember, the counseling office is for learning how to be the best you that you can be and I am here for YOU and your success. If you want to know more about ways I can help you and things that I am particularly good at helping with (in regards to academics, future planning, and social/emotional things), please check out my bio! If you are here because you are in crisis and need immediate help, please click here, or check out the resources in the right column below. Please note: by posting resources the district is not endorsing any agency or resource.

When someone asks an anonymous question, or when a question that is useful for many is asked, the question and answer will be displayed here.

Mindset of the Day: I will accomplish my goals one step at a time.

Daily Inspiration: “Look at the path very closely and deliberately then as yourself this crucial question: does this path have a heart? If it does, then the path is good. If it doesn’t it is of no use.”

Mental Health Tip: “We tend to act like who we are around, especially if we are around someone a lot. Make sure you are spending your time with those who build you up.”

Mindset of the Day: Every time I stand up again after making a mistake, I am getting stronger.

Daily Inspiration: “Life takes its path and sometimes there are people to blame. Of course there are bad people in this world.. But in a way, if there is more focus on the good, more good will happen”

Mental Health Tip: You determine how to choose to perceive a situation. Change your outlook and you could change your whole day around.

Mindset of the Day: My choices today impact my life tomorrow

Daily Inspiration: “When I write a goal down, it becomes a part of me. It is a contract that I sign with myself to say ‘I don’t care what happens- I’m going to stay on the path. I’m going to try and see this through. I’m going to give my best effort’.”

Mental Health Tip: It can be hard to get back into a routine once you come back from a long break. Remember to prioritize your sleep, as it helps your brain function better, mentally and emotionally.

Mindset of the Day: Every day is an opportunity to learn something new.

Daily Inspiration: “You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best. Behave honorably, prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give.”

Mental Health Tip: Mental health is taking care of you and your brain. It is for everyone. Life gets hard for everyone sometimes, so do not hesitate to ask Ms. Nina, a teacher, or a friend for help when in need.
